The Importance of Writing a Good Resume
The Importance of Writing a Good ResumeI've been writing resumes for quite a while now, and they are great at getting job interviews. They don't seem to get that much traffic though. Resumes that have simple information sprinkled throughout them are usually rejected. I have one simple advice for you.Don't write your resume like it's your first job out of college. Try to find a different style. I know many people who are trying to get jobs for the first time, and they are usually afraid of sounding too obvious, because their job experience has been so mundane and tepid. It's not a good idea to brag about how much you worked for your last job. Just be honest. You don't want to sound like an employee that is new to the company.Use your work experience as an aid to convince the employer that you will be a great employee. Say you were involved in major projects that you had no trouble finishing. Don't use it to brag. Instead, use it to show the employer that you are dependable and trustwor thy. There are other ways to inject life into your resume. Let your love for the company to be expressed through how you treat them, and be willing to work hard for them. Your resume should tell them you are good at what you do. Not all people that work in sales are really good at sales. But if you can do what you do and still be someone that they hire, that's the way you'll look.Resume writing can be a full time job. The best way to get traffic on it is to treat it like a job. Make it easy for the employer to tell you exactly why they need you. Don't over-promise or you'll seem desperate. So don't be afraid to say that you're good at the job. The employer will appreciate that you don't make empty promises and let them know you have what it takes to be great at what you do.A good resume is a necessity for finding a job. Be sure to write a good resume by following these simple tips. It's well worth it.
